The Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC), along with some of Scotland’s’ top business leaders will be hosting a series of free 60-minute webinars to provide an opportunity for attendees to understand and ask questions about topics which will help businesses prepare to survive in this unprecedented time. This webinar focused on the challenges facing credit unions in Scotland during the current COVID-19 crisis and beyond.

Speakers on this webinar included

  • Steven Cunningham, Partner at Alexander Sloan who will discuss the recent COVID 19 Guidance from the Prudential Regulation Authority
  • Alastair Davis, Chief Executive at Social Investment Scotland (SIS) who will provide an update on the Scottish Government’s £10m Credit Union Investment Fund, initially providing £2m of resilience support for credit union liquidity.
  • Niall Alexander, Affordable Credit Associate at Carnegie UK Trust who will discuss how COVID is impacting on decisions around lending and some of the additional factors credit unions should be considering
  • Declan Doyle, Senior Ethical Hacker at the SBRC who will provide an update on the ongoing risk posed by cybercrime from a financial perspective
